    JinkoSolar, the global leading PV and ESS supplier, recently delivers 123MWh of its SunTera liquid cooling energy storage systems to Yitong anew Energy Co., Ltd. for a solar-plus-storage project in Zhengye City, Gansu province.

    These prefabricated cabin systems will be incorporated into an existing solar park for peak shaving and valley filling.

    Thanks to the industry-leading liquid cooling system which controls the between-cell temperature difference within 2 degrees Celsius, that results in improved battery consistency and balancing capabilities among battery clusters, slows cycle life degradation and minimizes safety risks.

    Greater heat dissipation performance and temperature balancing capabilities of the battery are enabled by the increased number and accuracy of battery PACK temperature sensors, increased cooling efficiency of liquid cooling units, etc. of Suntera. Then, in specific energy storage fields with high safety requirements such as large-scale utility projects, commercial buildings, airports, ports, and rail transit, JinkoSolar’s liquid cooling BESS can have better application prospects.

    In addition to 8,000-10,000 cycles and industry-leading system charging and discharging efficiency RTE 94% and above, the most important feature of JinkoSolar’s SunTera preferred by customers is its high level of safety which passed the stringent safety grading assessment. Five layers of safety protection including fire earlier detection and warning, pressure relief, aerosol plus water fire suppression, explosion-proof devices installed in each cabinet, all these ensure the system is thoroughly protected.

    Pack-level fire protection is another crucial advantage of Suntera. In BESS design, higher energy density puts forward higher requirements for fire protection design, including water fire protection, gas fire protection, early warning detection and exhaust design, etc. The safety design of Suntera is strengthened due to the increase in energy density, the use of the PACK-level fire protection method adopted by JinkoSolar’s Suntera will be an industry trend.
