In the latest Global Ranking of Solar Cell Patents (TOP30) released by IPRdaily, JinkoSolar has been granted more patents than any other solar company in China, an indication of its pursuit of originality as JinkoSolar moves up the global innovation leader.
According to the ranking list, JinkoSolar ranked second to LG with 1,101 patents followed by Alko Technology, CSIQ, Panasonic Electric, Samsung Group, LONGi, Sony, KANEKA CORPORATION, and the Atomic Energy and French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission. Among them, the top two applicants with valid patent authorization are LG Group (668), and JinkoSolar (666).
Based on the understanding of solar cell technology, IPRdaily, a leading global intellectual property (IP) technology media focusing on IP services and the IP industry ecosystem, confined the relevant keywords and classification numbers, sorted out the data on solar cell patents that were applied for and publicly disclosed globally from May 1, 2013, to April 30, 2023 (in combination with the application number), and then released the Global Ranking of Solar Cell Patents (TOP30). This ranking of applicants in terms of patent applications, to some extent, reflects their technological innovation capabilities in solar cells.
"JinkoSolar has played a significant part in revving up global innovation on solar and energy storage technology, and we are eager to license our patents and technologies to share our innovations with the world, N-type TOPCon being next-gen mainstream is a good example,” said Dany Qian, VP of JinkoSolar.
In 2022 single year, JinkoSolar invested at least 5.6 billion RMB in R&D, according to the company, noting that no other solar company has more granted patents than it in China. 22 times, it broke the world’s record for solar cell efficiency, now holding the record for n-type TOPCon cell of 26.4%.
